An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is a wastewater treatment system designed to remove harmful pollutants — BOD, COD, TSS, heavy metals, and toxic chemicals — from industrial process effluent before it is discharged or reused. With increasingly stringent CPCB and SPCB regulations, a properly designed ETP is not just a legal requirement but a business necessity.

Our plants incorporate physico-chemical and biological treatment stages, and can be upgraded to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) — enabling complete wastewater recycling and eliminating discharge penalties. Every ETP is custom-designed after a detailed effluent characterisation study.

How It Works
Screening & Equalisation
Coarse and fine screens remove large solids. An equalisation tank buffers flow and load variations to ensure consistent downstream treatment.
Physico-Chemical Treatment
Coagulants and flocculants are dosed to remove suspended solids, colour, and heavy metals. A clarifier separates the floc from the treated water.
Biological Treatment
Aerobic or anaerobic biological processes (ASP, SBR, MBBR, or MBR) break down dissolved organic matter, reducing BOD and COD to compliant levels.
Tertiary Treatment
Sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, and disinfection (UV/chlorination) polish the treated effluent to meet discharge or reuse standards.
Sludge Management
Biological and chemical sludge is thickened, dewatered using a filter press or centrifuge, and disposed of as per CPCB hazardous waste guidelines.
ZLD (Optional)
For zero discharge, treated water is further concentrated using Multi-Effect Evaporators (MEE) or RO systems, recovering water and crystallising salts for disposal.
