How It Works
Raw Water Intake
Raw water is drawn from the source (river, borewell, or tank) through an intake pump and screened to remove large debris before entering the treatment system.
Coagulation & Flocculation
Coagulants (alum or PAC) are dosed to destabilise suspended particles. Gentle mixing in a flocculation tank causes particles to aggregate into larger, settleable flocs.
Sedimentation
Flocculated water enters a clarifier or settling tank where heavy flocs settle to the bottom as sludge, significantly reducing turbidity and suspended solids.
Filtration
Clarified water passes through sand and activated carbon filters to remove residual turbidity, colour, taste, and odour — producing clear, filtered water.
Disinfection
Filtered water is disinfected with chlorine, UV, or ozone to kill bacteria, viruses, and pathogens, ensuring microbiologically safe water at the outlet.
Storage & Distribution
Treated water is stored in a clean water tank and distributed through a pressurised network or gravity feed to the point of use.
