Hot Water System
Energy-efficient hot water systems for hotels, hospitals, industries, and residential complexes — solar, heat pump, and electric options with scale-free, Legionella-safe hot water delivery.
Overview
A reliable, energy-efficient hot water system is essential for hotels, hospitals, industrial processes, and large residential complexes. Hot water systems must deliver consistent temperature, adequate flow, and safe water quality (Legionella control) while minimising energy consumption. Aquatic Solutions supplies solar hot water systems, heat pump water heaters, and electric hot water systems, along with water softening and scale prevention to protect the system.
We design and supply complete hot water systems including solar collectors (flat plate and evacuated tube), heat pump water heaters, electric storage heaters, hot water circulation pumps, insulated distribution pipework, and thermostatic mixing valves. Our systems are designed to meet the hot water demand of hotels, hospitals, laundries, food processing plants, and residential complexes, with energy efficiency and Legionella risk management as key design priorities.
Key Features
- Solar hot water systems (flat plate and evacuated tube collectors)
- Heat pump water heaters (COP 3–5)
- Electric storage and instantaneous water heaters
- Hot water circulation loop for instant hot water at every tap
- Thermostatic mixing valves for scalding prevention
- Water softening to prevent scale in heaters and pipework
- Legionella risk management — temperature maintenance at 60°C+
- Insulated SS 304/316 storage tanks and distribution pipework

How It Works
Heat Generation
Heat is generated by solar collectors (converting sunlight to heat), heat pump (extracting heat from ambient air), or electric heaters. Solar and heat pump systems are the most energy-efficient options, with solar providing free energy and heat pumps delivering 3–5 kWh of heat per 1 kWh of electricity.
Heat Transfer & Storage
Heat is transferred to the hot water storage tank through a heat exchanger (for solar and heat pump systems) or directly (for electric systems). The storage tank maintains water at 60–65°C to prevent Legionella growth.
Water Softening
Hard water causes scale formation in heaters, heat exchangers, and pipework, reducing efficiency and causing premature failure. A water softener removes hardness before the hot water system, extending equipment life and maintaining efficiency.
Circulation Loop
A hot water circulation pump continuously circulates hot water through the distribution loop, ensuring instant hot water at every tap without waiting for the water to heat up. This eliminates water wastage and improves user experience.
Temperature Control
Thermostatic mixing valves blend hot water from the storage tank with cold water to deliver safe, comfortable temperatures (45–55°C) at the point of use, preventing scalding while maintaining Legionella-safe storage temperatures.
Legionella Management
Legionella bacteria thrive at 25–45°C. Hot water is stored at 60°C+ to prevent Legionella growth. Periodic thermal disinfection (pasteurisation at 70°C for 1 hour) is performed to eliminate any Legionella in the system.
