Solar Powered Water Filter System
Off-grid solar-powered water filtration systems delivering clean, safe drinking water to villages, remote communities, and sites without reliable grid power — sustainable and low-maintenance.
Overview
Solar-powered water filter systems combine renewable solar energy with proven water treatment technology to provide clean drinking water in areas without reliable grid electricity. These systems are ideal for rural villages, tribal communities, remote industrial sites, and disaster relief operations where grid power is unavailable or unreliable. Solar water filters eliminate the recurring cost of electricity and reduce dependence on diesel generators.
Aquatic Solutions designs and supplies complete solar-powered water treatment systems integrating solar PV panels, MPPT charge controllers, battery banks (for night-time operation), DC or AC pumps, and water treatment units (sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, UV disinfection, and RO). Our systems are designed for easy operation and maintenance by local communities, with minimal moving parts and long service intervals.

How It Works
Solar Energy Generation
Solar PV panels convert sunlight into DC electricity. An MPPT charge controller optimises energy harvest and charges the battery bank while powering the water treatment system.
Water Pumping
A solar-powered DC or AC pump draws raw water from the source (borewell, river, or tank) and delivers it to the treatment system at the required pressure and flow rate.
Pre-filtration
Raw water passes through a sand filter to remove turbidity and suspended solids, followed by an activated carbon filter to remove chlorine, taste, and odour.
Disinfection or RO
For microbiologically contaminated water, UV disinfection provides chemical-free pathogen removal. For high-TDS or brackish water, an RO system reduces TDS to safe drinking water levels.
Storage & Distribution
Treated water is stored in a clean water tank and distributed to the community through a gravity-fed or pumped distribution network, or dispensed at a central kiosk.
Battery Backup
The battery bank stores excess solar energy during the day, powering the system during night-time hours or cloudy periods to ensure continuous water supply.
